Si ATM Wins Contract in Moldavia for ATM System
Si ATM and Moldavian Air Traffic Services Authority (MoldATSA) have recently signed a contract for the supply of a new Air Traffic Management (ATM) system to replace the current MoldATSA system. The new system shall implement the latest in automation of ATM and will thus also comply with future requirements raised by the ongoing modernisation programmes in European ATM such as SESAR, CCAMS, CDA, CPDLC, D-AIM and ICAO 2012.
The new system will perform centralised multi-sensor tracking with data from PSR/SSR and Mode-S radars as well as multilateration and ADS-B. Flight data processing will be fully automated with OLDI procedures according to latest specifications. It will be capable of handling the change to the new flight plan format that will enter into force in November 2012. Controller working positions will utilize the latest technology and the operational concept will be both strip and paperless.
MoldATSA will also benefit from the following state-of-the-art functionality:
- Safety nets
- Monitoring aids
- Medium term conflict detection
- CPDLC – Controller Pilot Data Link Communication
- Pre-departure clearance
- Full integration with Central Flow Management Unit CFMU
All fulfilling Eurocontrol specifications and recommendations.
The contract also includes new consoles and uninterruptable power supply systems.
The tender was won in competition with some of the most distinguished companies in the ATM domain and Si ATM’s proposal was judged the most advantageous regarding functionality, schedule and price.
